Terms of Use
Last updated: October 19, 2026 · Spleven is made by Marbot Apps, Jona, Switzerland
1. About these terms
These terms apply to Spleven Plus, the optional paid tier of the Spleven apps for Android and iPhone, and to your use of Spleven. The free parts of Spleven are covered by the privacy policy. By buying or using Spleven Plus you agree to these terms.
The provider is Marbot Apps, owned by Francois Cedric Marbot, Grütstrasse 17, 8645 Jona, Switzerland. You can reach us at our contact page.
2. What stays free
- Spleven has no ads, ever.
- Nothing that was free before Plus existed becomes Plus or paid. Spleven Plus only adds tools and views on top of the free core, and it never hides data that anyone entered.
- Plus is optional. You can use Spleven without it and without paying.
3. Spleven Plus
Plus belongs to your Spleven account, so it works on every device you sign in to. You need to be signed in to buy it. When Plus ends, only the Plus tools stop working. Your groups, payments and pictures are never touched, and your choices (such as a colour palette) are remembered for when Plus returns.
The benefits of Plus are personal: they apply to the account that holds Plus and are not passed on to the other members of its groups. The features that Plus includes can grow over time.
4. Buying Plus
- Where: Plus is sold only inside the Spleven apps for Android and iPhone, through Google Play and the App Store. It cannot be bought on the web or on this site. The web version honours Plus you already have.
- Who sells: Google Play and the App Store sell Plus to you and are the merchant of record. Your payment, any tax, invoices and the store's own terms are theirs. On iPhone, Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement applies in addition to these terms.
- Plans: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription and a lifetime purchase. At launch they cost €1.99 a month, €9.99 a year and €24.99 once. Prices are set per country in the stores, may differ from these figures and may change; the price that counts is the one the store shows you before you confirm the purchase.
- Checking purchases: we use RevenueCat to check your purchases with the stores and to tell our server whether your account has Plus. See section 13 of the privacy policy.
- Lifetime means for as long as your account and the Plus service exist. It is tied to your account: if you delete the account, you lose the lifetime Plus.
5. Subscriptions, cancelling and refunds
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel them. The store charges you; the renewal price is the one the store shows.
- You cancel in the store: in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions, or on iPhone in the Settings app under your name and Subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your Spleven account does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are decided and paid by the store under its own rules. Ask Google Play or Apple. If the store refunds a purchase, Plus from that purchase ends.
6. Plus trial
Everyone gets a Plus trial once, without a payment method. It never charges you, never turns into a subscription and ends on its own. It lasts 30 days from the first payment you add to any group in the app, and runs on to the end date of the group you have open when that date is later, but never past 60 days from its start. Settlements count; payments added in a browser, received from other devices or added by the app for a repeating payment do not. There is one trial per account and per device.
If you already use Spleven when Plus launches, your trial starts on launch day and lasts 30 days. If you use Spleven without an account, the trial start is kept on your device and passes to your account when you first sign in, unless that account already has a trial of its own.
Store-managed free trials, which turn into a paid plan unless you cancel, are not used.
7. Other ways to get Plus
- Unlocker owners: if you bought the paid Travel Money Unlocker app for Android and it is installed on a device you are signed in on, your account gets lifetime Plus.
- Referral days: when you share a link to a group and a brand-new account joins through it in the app on a device that has not been used for an account before, as far as we can tell, you earn 30 days of Plus. Days are added to your Plus; while you have a paid plan they are kept and start when it ends. Joining in a browser does not count, and an account counts only once. The privacy policy describes how we judge that a device is new. We may withhold or take back days that came from misuse, and we may change or end referral days for future joins.
8. Deleting your account
If you delete your account, you lose Plus that comes from the account: lifetime Plus (including the Unlocker grant), the trial and unspent referral days. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription with the store: cancel it there first, or it keeps being charged. See Delete account.
9. Using Spleven
You use Spleven at your own responsibility. Do not misuse it, for example to attack the service, to get Plus by faking devices or accounts, or to upload content you have no right to share. Pictures and content you add to a shared group are visible to the group. We may suspend an account that abuses the service.
10. Availability and liability
We work to keep Spleven running and your data safe, but we cannot promise that the service is never interrupted or free of errors. Spleven helps you keep track of shared expenses; check the figures before you rely on them. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage or lost profit. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, or liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes
We may change these terms, for example when Plus changes. The latest version is always at https://spleven.com/terms/. A change applies to your next renewal or purchase; you can cancel before it. We will not change the price of a running subscription period.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence and may also bring proceedings there.
