Delete your account and data
Delete your Spleven account in the app, or ask us by email.
In the app
In the Android app, open Settings, then Synchronization, then Delete account. On the web, open the menu, select your email address, then Delete account. On an iPhone, open a group, tap the gear icon at the top left to open Settings, then the row with your account at the top, then Delete Account. The option is shown while you are signed in.
- Confirm the deletion. You leave every group, this device is erased, and it cannot be undone.
- The app first syncs any unsent changes, so the other members keep your last edits. If that fails, nothing is deleted.
- Sign in again with your account's own sign-in (email, Google or Apple). Then the deletion runs.
By email
Without the app, send an email from the address linked to your account with the subject Delete my account and data:
You will receive a confirmation once your account has been deleted.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address, name and sign-in
- Your device registrations (notification tokens)
- Your link to every group, as with Leave group
- Your email address on the participants of your groups
What stays
- Groups are not deleted. They stay, with their payments, pictures and categories, with the people you shared them with.
- A participant's name stays in the group as the record of who paid. Only the email address is removed.
- A group that nobody uses any more is removed later.
Deleting an account is permanent and cannot be undone.
